A Little Yarn...

Well, I have a few things going on right now in the yarn department!
Most of these projects have been inspired by going to visit Laura, seeing what she is doing and launching something with a new stitch or some cool yarn. I am happy to say that I am working on all of them and making progress. I might even finish one one of these days...

Corner to Corner-
I started this shawl while I was in Texas last Spring. Laura had shown me how to start the stitch and I have been working on it steadily ever since. I got the yarn at this adorable little yarn shop in Gruene, Texas called "Lucky Ewe". See what they did there?

Bedsized blanket- Single Crochet with two strands-
I made one of these a couple of years ago, and then gave it to Nina when she moved into her new house. I have been alternating colors between blues and grays and it's been a fun project. Not sure when it will be done, but there's joy in the journey!

Multi-colored Shawl- Half-Double Crochet with gorgeous "I Love This Yarn-Blush"-
This shawl has an amazing story. I found this yarn when Laura and I were shopping at Hobby Lobby in Texas. I bought six skeins, thinking that I would just order more if that wasn't enough. When I went to order, I was told that the color was likely being discontinued! I had nowhere near enough.
Laura and Lisa, her dear SIL, went to every Hobby Lobby in the area and bought up all that they could find for me. This shawl is soft and warm, in so many ways! I love it and I love the love that went into it.

Baby Blanket- Granny Square-
This is one that I am working on for a friend.
It's lots of fun!

Temperature Afghan- Single Crochet-
This is a really neat project.
I found the color spectrum online, and I bought the different colors for the different temperatures.
Every day I add a row based on the temperature and the corresponding color. I never know what it's going to look like and it's so much fun to see it go together!
I started it on the first of January, so all the colors so far are "cool" colors.
It's a commitment, but one row isn't too much to stick to.

I love the feel of home and I love the business of making my home and homeschool work as smoothly and "Grace"fully as possible. I want to help preserve the art of Domesticity, with the added Blessing of Home Education.
This is the purpose of this blog. To pass along some of the things I have learned, and am learning, about organizing, about cooking, about homeschooling, about time management and other tidbits.
